Raindrops - Ali Znaidi

Rain settles in the cracks of the stones—
chalices for thirsty little birds.
& this image settles in the memory;
drops of desire, echoed.
& raindrops escape into a language of nostalgia
as I’m always thinking of my grandmother’s
goatskin which always contained cool water
scented w/ tar.
